On July 8, 2019, Pete KJ will present a talk on “Talking Couch to Fourteener with Pete KJ.” from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Fort Collins Senior Center at 1200 Raintree Drive, in Fort Collins

On June 29, 2019, Pete KJ starting at 8:30 am, Pete will lead a day hike west on the Continental Divide Trail from the Berthoud Pass parking lot. This event is sponsored by the Clear Creek Library District. Following the hike, we will meet at a to-be-determined pub for a lunchtime presentation by Pete on the topic, “Preparing to Hike the Summer Front Range.”

On June 27, 2019, Pete KJ will be presenting “Interesting Summer Hikes in the Front Range” at the REI Dillon from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Join veteran hiker and author Pete KJ as he presents some of his favorite trail choices for summer, and delves into the stories that go with them. Bring your curiosity, and get ready to write your own stories by going out and hiking these dazzling trails! This REI is located at 306 Dillon Road in Dillon. Sign-up for the class here.

Later in the day, Pete will will present a talk on “Interesting Summer Hikes” from 6:30 to 8:00 at the Broomfield Library in Broomfield, Colorado. The library is located at 3 Community Park Road in Broomfield.

On June 25, 2019, Pete KJ will present a talk on “Preparing to Hike the Summer Front Range” from 6:30 to 8:00 at the Cheyenne Mountain Library on 1785 South 8th Street, Suite 100 in Colorado Springs in conjunction with the Pikes Peak Library District.

On June 19, 2019, Pete KJ will present a talk on “Preparing to Hike the Summer Front Range” from 6:30 to 8:00 at a location to be announced in Colorado Springs in conjunction with the Pikes Peak Library District.

On June 15, 2019, Pete KJ will lead a hike on the Continental Divide. Hikers should meet at 8:30 am at the Berthoud Pass Parking lot. Later in the day, Pete will present a talk on “Preparing to Hike the Summer Front Range” at a pub to be determined in Idaho Springs. This event is sponsored by the Clear Creek Library District. The library asks that hikers preregister for this event with Holly Grant at holly@cccld.org.

On June 13, 2019, Pete KJ will present a talk on “Trail Master 101” which is a hands-on workshop for grades 6+ at the Carbon Valley Regional Library located at 7 Park Avenue in Firestone from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Colorado Sierra Club Dozens of hikes every week.

Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) acts as a gateway to the mountains in Colorado for experts and novices and has been around for over a century — since 1912 to be exact. There are trips all year round — from snowshoeing, to mountaineering and even wildflower hikes led by native plant specialists — and also educational courses and CPR/AED classes. Membership for people under 30 years old are $30 annually and will connect you with 60,000 other members in Colorado.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. There are hundreds of projects throughout the state at any given time that may include: trail construction and maintenance, invasive species management, gardening and planting and even historic preservation.

Meetup: There are dozens of Meetup groups focused on hiking in the Front Range. Here’s a list of them to get you started.

October 21st. Las Vegas Book Festival. Deborah Wall was a featured author at the Festival.

November 12th. 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Visitors Center at the Red Rock National Conservancy Area. Deborah will be signing copies of her book as part of the Southern Nevada Conservancy, Second Sunday, “Artists and Authors” event.
